tasty pastries are traditionally served in Slovenia during Carnival. They are
so easy to make and even easier to enjoy!
tbsp of sugar
tsp of salt
ml whipping cream
oil for frying and powdered sugar for dusting
large bowl put flour, add an egg in the middle and mix it with sugar and salt.
Pour in the whipping cream and knead until smooth dough forms. Let it rest for
half an hour, then roll the dough into a rectangle as thinly possible, flouring
as needed to prevent sticking. Use an ordinary knife or a fluted pastry wheel to
cut smaller rectangles (6 x 10 cm). Then cut 3 to 4 lines inside each rectangle.
vegetable oil into a deep pan, set the hob to medium heat and fry until golden
(about 1 minute) on each side. Place the fried pastries on a paper towel to
remove excess fat. Dust with powdered sugar.
